Hey yes, that is the Edmund Charles Hogg.  I've looked into these parents, and it seems that this is the only Edward in the area.

Hi so just where did you obtain a record of an Edmund CHARLES Hogg from, I can only locate the one I showed?

It seems to be the same entry you shared - for some reason, some indexes don't include the middle name of Charles.  No idea why?!

😀 Agree, looked at original on my site, indeed does include Charles, so do we assume Edmund Charles is Edward Hogg?

I think it must be - there doesn't appear to be another Edmund Charles Hogg, and 'my' Edward Hogg from the census was born c 1808 in Newby Wiske.  Bit of a strange coincidence other wise, especially in such a small community.

However, I'd be happy to shown otherwise, providing proof.

This caught me eye as I have Hoggs. mine came down from Roxboroughshire to Tyneside early 1800's.  But they were Gardeners for generations. They also owned Hoggs nursery right in the heart of Newcastle.

no connections with yours that I can see.... yet!!

Hi Diddy, nice to hear from you - I wonder if there is a connection to Tyneside BECAUSE, my Edward was the son of William Hogg, and it seems he was baptised Edmund Charles Hogg in 1807.  This William seems to have died in Kirkby Wiske in 1830 aged 53, born c 1777.  With this, there is a POSSIBLE baptism for William in 1777 in Sedgefield, the father being Charles Hogg.  This Charles seems to have other children baptised in Heighington and Denton.

Does these link to yours?
