Eliza Dowling, daughter of James, a mason was born between 1836-41 at Midsomer Norton Somerset.
Married Joseph Bridgeman on Feb.27th 1859 at St James, Bath.
Lived in Weymouth, Dorset after her marriage.
I am looking for any info about her birth , parents etc.

There is this baptism Midsomer Norton but 24 Jun 1832

Eliza Dowling

parents James & Hester

2 other children baptised at the same time - Sarah & James

father James is a mason so looks promising
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

The baptism in 1832 looks promising. Her sister Sarah aged 61 was with Eliza's widowed husband in 1891, which ties in well with the baptism date. Eliza's given age was, 23 in1859. 24 in 1861, 37 in 1871 and 57 when she died in April 1891.

Many thanks to Milliepede and Jamjar. I think that some time ago I found Eliza Dowling working as a servant in the Bath area (1841 census) but dismissed it at the time as I thought the age might not right for my Eliza!  Today I have come across Hester Dowling with Mary Sheppard (1841) but no age given for Hester. Also a death of a Hester Dowling March Qtr 1859

Hester has been transcribed as age 40 but the entry is rather faint.  Maybe Mary was her mother.

The Hester that died in 1859 was age 57.
