Woking St Peter early records

Hello,

I am researching families from this parish but have discovered the records don't seem to predate the 1650s. Ancestry has the original registers from 1673, and Find My Past has marriages only from 1653. I desperately need baptisms before 1673 to get any further! Does anyone know why there are no earlier registers?

According to the Guide issued by the Surrey History Centre, no original registers survive for St Peter Woking before 1653.

You could email the Surrey History Centre to confirm that. But as the later records have been deposited there, it's unlikely that earlier ones are held elsewhere.
