Hello all

Hoping to find records of immigration to New York  for brother and sister possible in 1858.

Henry Edward Winterbottom b. 1831 in Saddleworth moved to Huddersfield by 1851 census.

Henry Edward settled in Cohoes, Albany, NY by 1860 census.

Mary Whitehead (nee Winterbottom) b. 1822 in Saddleworth moved to Huddersfield by 1851 census.
Mary's Husband was Seth Johnson Whitehead b. 1832 Saddleworth moved to Huddersfield?
Mary's daughters were Elizabeth Bottomley Whitehead (b. 1852), Clara Whitehead (b. 1855) and Sarah Ann Whitehead (b. 1856).

Mary settled in Troy NY by 1860 census.

Warm Regards
Karen

Hi Erato

Thank you, I've was looking for Seth Johnson Whitehead and thought that Mary and their daughter's would be with him.

Ugh! can't image making that trip with three little girls under the age of seven.

I don't know about the Henry as it gives him born in the US. But mistakes were made.

Still can't find Seth Johnson.

Was it easy to lie about your name in that era? I have a feeling that Seth Johnson was a bit of a character and may have been in trouble.

Warm Regards
Karen
