On this will dated 1688 it looks like Edmund is referring to son John/Johis  I have an Edmund/Edmon bapt to John Tinson 1685 Chipping Norton but not birth for John, if this Edmund is referring to his son it would seem likely that he is my Edmunds grandfather

Hi Horselydown

Ah I see I was misreading it, thinking John referred to as John boy but I see it is Johns son ie  Edmond being Johns son receiving £5, that helps so much now I know John is Edmund Snr's son, now I've just got to figure out which Edmund Tinson is his father, I think this one that died 1692 makes a reference to Alice, likely Alice Trender who married an Edward/Edmund Tinson 1 Feb 1625.

This one from 1692 is also Edmund.  He is a Gardiner from Chippingnorton.

His wife and executrix is Alice.  She was alive on 19 April 1692.

He gives her his house in New Street (in which Alice Watts dwells).

He also makes a bequest to an Aunt Ann whose surname is difficult to make out clearly - Pei?i? perhaps.

I'll check in the library tomorrow, see if I can find a marriage for Ann Tinson, hopefully there should be a wedding for this Edmunds father might help narrow down which Edmund is which.
