That's certainly feasible. William's son of the same name did move to Lidlington. Thanks a lot.

Did your William c 1801 marry Elizabeth BASS or Mary PAGE?

Why I ask as 1851 Census has 2 Williams born c 1801 Millbrook with those Wives.

There is also a William Pepper christened 8 Dec 1799 Millbrook to WILLIAM/JANE

Yes, he married Elizabeth Bass in Maulden, in 1820.

There's the possibility William (snr) died fairly young and Hannah remarried...

Marriage - Millbrook
8 Oct 1804
William Roffe, widower
Hannah Pepper, widow

Backtracking, there was a burial of a William Pepper...

Burial - Millbrook
26 Jul 1801
William Pepper
Age 38 [est birth c1763]

Looking at possible burials for William and Hannah Roffe...

Burials - Millbrook
19 Mar 1823
William Roffe
Age 51 [est birth c1772]

11 Aug 1823
Hannah Roffe
Age 57 [est birth c1766]
Wife of Edward (clark)

02 Apr 1828
William Roffe
Age 88 [est birth c1740]

23 Dec 1846
Hannah Roffe
Age 84 [est birth c1762]

Note that Edward and Hannah Roffe overlap William and Hannah Pepper, with both couples having children baptised around the same years.

So it looks as if the Hannah who married to William Roffe, died in 1846, and husband William Roffe died in 1823.

There is a Hannah Roffe, aged 70, living in Millbrook on the 1841 census. Living next door is a Benjamin and Hannah Roffe, both aged 30.

Ref HO107; Piece 6; Book 23; Folio 9; Page 13;

Unfortunately I can't find a death registration for the Hannah who died in 1846, as the death certificate may have confirmed (or refuted) the idea that Hannah remarried.

Edit:
Also, the Bed FHS surname index doesn't contain an burials for a Hannah Pepper.

Adam, if you don't mind me asking, how are you sure your William was the son of William & Hannah and not the son of William & Jane, that trish posted?
