Thanks buckhind........

A lot of time, effort & thought has gone into this.

I would just like to add that anyone visiting Wellshill/Jeanfield Cemetery can take their car in but park sensibly so other cars can pass.

There is a gate at each end so you can access it from both ends, Jeanfield Rd & Rannoch Rd.

Hi BBaxter,
I found your two ancestors in the burial link I provided.
This is a link to the Perth burgh burial registers, 1794-1855 for Wellshill & Greyfriars Cemeteries:
http://www.pkc.gov.uk/article/3887/Perth-burgh-burial-registers-1794-1855
You can search for burials between 1794-1855.
.

Reference   PE1/20/1
Forename   William
Surname   BAXTER
Address   n/k
Occupation   Heelmaker
Date Died   17 June 1810
Age   73y
Cause of Death   Aged
Burial Date   20 June 1810
Cemetery   Greyfriars

Reference   PE1/20/2
Forename   Margret
Surname   BAXTER
Address   n/k
Occupation   n/k
Date Died   21 August 1833
Age   92y
Cause of Death   Old age
Burial Date   24 August 1833
Cemetery   Greyfriars
Relative   Willam BAXTER
Relationship   Deceased spouse

I will go to Perth Library and check out the books regarding Greyfriars and see if I can ascertain where they are buried and if there is a headstone.
I know from personal experience that when the burial ground was renovated in the late 90's/early 2000 a lot of tombstones were either uplifted and placed elsewhere or were removed entirely.

Hi BBaxter,
I headed up to the Library and had a look in the Pre-1855 Monumental Inscriptions (for Greyfriars).
Unfortunately there are no mention of William & Margaret Baxter.
I also had a look in the two books that William Sievwright wrote but nothing there either.

Thank you very much for checking! Do you think that means there are no headstones? No way to know where they are located? Thank you very much, BBaxter

William Seivwright wrote his books in 1893/5 and the pre-1855 Monumental Inscriptions were written in 1975.
None of them mention the Baxters so it appears there was no headstone.

I suppose the only thing you can do is get in touch with burial services.

Perth burgh burial registers
Please note: The Archive only holds the original burial records for Perth burgh, 1794-1977 (PE1/20)...
Perhaps they can point you to a lair location in the cemetery.
I have given the link in my first post above.

BBaxter I had an incredible stroke of luck while I was browsing the newspapers of the time.
I found this obituary of Margaret Baxter in 1833.

Perthshire Advertiser 29th August, 1833
At Perth, on Thursday last, at the advanced age of 94 years, Margaret Baxter, widow of  the late William Baxter, for many years teacher of music for the city, and Precentor in the Middle Church. She retained her memory, and all her faculties, to the last; and could tell many anecdotes of Prince Charles and his army. She was present at Carrick Fergus, when it was attacked by Thurot’s fleet, and remembers of hearing the people there, who had been at the siege of Londonderry, talk of the cruel manner in which the inhabitants were driven in under the walls of the city.

That looks like she was born circa 1740 and would be 5 years old when Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army encamped on the North Inch in Perth during the 1745 rebellion.
