Births and Sponsors
« on: Thursday 03 August 17 07:01 BST (UK) »
This question relates to any family though in this instance it relates to my wife great-grandparents. Where a birth is recorded as
Patrick Rocks of Simon Rocks and Ann Burke. Sps. Mary Ann Rocks
Would it be fair to assume that the sponsor is a brother/sister of the father. This seems to be the tradition in many families. Whats your view?

Could also be Simon's mother.
