Given the unusual name of Ernest R Ivers there may well be another marriage for him in 1971 in Stoke-on-Trent.Perhaps he liked Wedding Cake.lol

It is now apparent that the widow from the 1978 marriage is still alive so I have removed her name from my replies

SP shows Ernest Roy Ivers born 1921 Inverurie - probably the son of John Milne Ivers and Annabella Walker Stuart who married 1911 in Inverurie

And he is not the one who died in 1983 in Staffs

SP shows a death for him in 1980 Inverurie aged 59  ???

So - Ernest Roy Ivers who died in 1983 was not born 1921 Inverurie

There are marriages in 1922 and 1946 Inverurie for Ernest Roy Ivers which is probably the one born 1902

You need to buy a copy of at least one of the English marriage certs to establish his fathers name
