Royal Signal Corps in WW2 in Hampshire - Lieutenant George William Cooper
« on: Thursday 03 August 17 15:09 BST (UK) »
Hi, Everyone,
This is a new area to me, but I am wondering how the Royal Signal Corps were deployed in WW2.  Would small detachments have been sent to join particular regiments in action - how did things work exactly....I'm also trying to discover about the WW2 record of a Lieutenant George William COOPER, born in 1914 or 1915 in the Portsmouth area, and who apparently joined the Royal Signals at the outbreak of war, but may not have seen active service overseas.  He could have been based in or nearby Winchester.
Any help, however small, would be much appreciated...
Many thanks, Keith
