Agnes Wilson - Henry Forbes marry twice

I'm extremely confused, my 3 time great grandmother liked to live a complicated life it seems. Her second husband Henry Forbes whom she had a daughter with, I found a marriage for 1888. I then found a marriage for them again in 1892? Is this likely to of actually happened? I can't find a marriage to her first husband whom she had 3 kids with infact I can't find anything on him at all. Anybody out there related to Wilsons who lived in Elswick/Byker?

I can't see either marriage you mention on FreeBMD and the transcription on Anc does not show an image.   Maybe both marriages were arranged but never took place   

Looking at the couple in 1891 Agnes retained her Wilson surname.   

Looking at the GRO Birth index I think this might be her daughter Alice Wilson b 1876 Newcastle
ALICE WILSON    GRO Ref 1876  Dec Qtr 1876 NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE  Vol 10B  Page 91 Mothers maiden name WILLIS

I wonder if this could have been Agnes's first marriage

Yes she had a daughter Alice who I'm just doing some research on now, she also had another daughter Agnes who seemingly married a Forbes too!

If the marriage is the right couple the GRO Birth Index lists a few possible pre 1871 Wilson births with mother's maiden name Willis including this one.   I notice in 1881 Agnes lists her birth place as Scotland with the middle name being McNay

Oh I haven't seen that on the census I've seen, I've got her in 1881 as a widow with her 4 kids at 13 Chapel Yard which is just down the road from her parents.

I keep coming back to this family - who are all listed as born in Newcastle.  They were living in Middle Chapel Yard, St Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne - a similar address to 1881 and it looks like this William had children by an earlier wife

Yes that's the same one, it's meant I've found her parents which I hadn't seen before, thank you! Yes I've come across that one too and the ages seem to match as came across a DOB for William as possibly 1831. There all seemed to live around Chapel Yard too.
