finding burial plots in cheshire
« on: Friday 04 August 17 21:18 BST (UK) »
Hello

i've recently found a few family members and i would love to know where they are! i've been on "deceased online", i've paid to look for any records, i've been on Ancestry, i've searched google.. i'm at a lost end LOL.

i'm trying to find a grave or cremation plot - it's telling me theres no record BUT when i search graves that i visit and know 100% they exist, its telling me theres also no record of these!? but i know they exist so i don't understand why it keeps saying that!!!!! :|

Reginald William Such 1883 - 1961
Esther Louisa Ikin/Such 1883 - 1946
Lucy Such 1914 - 1986

SURELY they must be somewhere! they lived in winsford/middlewich, reginald was in sandbach for some time etc..

thank you for any help in advance X

Hi
Do you have the death certificates?
Where did they die?
You need to check with the local councils.
Not all records are online.

Probate for Reginald William Such gives his address as 168 Wharton Road Winsford.
He died at Holmcroft, Arclid near Sandbach.

It's a case of eliminating possible places.

For example they may not be at Sandbach cemetery which is managed by Orbitas, their records are online at Deceased Online

http://www.orbitas.co.uk/cemeteries/sandbach-cemetery/sandbach-cemetery.aspx

There's a list here

http://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/register_office/cemeteries/cemeteries-and-crematoria.aspx

of cemeteries also managed by Orbitas.

It might be worthwhile contacting them directly after the weekend and asking for help with these look-ups but they may require the exact date of death rather than a year and quarter.

Not sure where you live, but I found the attached information related to the local Winsford newspapers.  That might be a possibility to finding their final resting places.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

If your relatives are buried in a Church Graveyard they are not listed in deceasedonline.
Council's record Cremations and Burials but don't say where the ashes were scattered or buried, unless they are in the Crematorium grounds or in a Council grave yard.
So what you have to do is find out when and where they died, check the newspapers for the funeral director and ask them.
My husband's Aunt and Uncle are not listed in deceasedonline they were both buried in Tarvin Church yard.

Hello,

yes thats right! his address was on Wharton Road, Winsford and he did die in Holmcroft. But i'd of thought he'd of had a funeral and been buried locally? unless they had a cemetery at Holmcroft but that building was knocked down some time ago :(
