Caroline Joiner Moreton in Marsh born 1790
« on: Saturday 05 August 17 03:00 BST (UK) »
I have an ancestor Caroline Matilda Joiner  born in Gloucestershire 1790

Unfortunately The Baptism record do not give the names of her parents.

Caroline Matilda Joiner
England Births and Christenings
Name   Caroline Matilda Joiner
Gender   Female
Christening Date   19 Sep 1790
Christening Date (Original)   19 SEP 1790
Christening Place   MORETON IN MARSH,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

There are a lot of different Joiner/Joyner baptism records in this and neighboring parishes, in that time period.

I think there three candidates for her parents

1786 – Phil JOINER married Alice KEMPSON at Moreton in Marsh
1798 – William JOYNER married Grace CAR at Bourton on the Hill
1789 - Samuel JOINER married Jane LUDGATE at Moreton in Marsh

I am wondering whether anyone has been able to make any progress on her and who her parents may have been?

Hi

I have Caroline's husband as Christopher Millin, and her later residence as Ramsden Oxfordshire.

On the 1841 census it states her birth as not Oxfordshire and her age 50. The only Caroline Joiner/Joyner I could find born around 1790, is this Caroline Joiner born in Gloucestershire 1790.

The bishops transcript  of her baptism, does not give her parents.

Ancestry

Caroline JOINER of the Parish of Ramsden married Christopher MILLING 16 June 1808 at Shipton under Wychwood that earlier.  witnesses: James LARNESBURY? and John CROFS

What names did they give their children (i.e. family names)

--

There is a James PRATLEY, of the Hamlet of Leafield, marrying a Frances JOYNER of the Parish of Sarsden - marrying in the same Church - 18 August 1806 - there may be others?

---

Anne JOINER (of Lineham) - in this Parish -  married James WATTS of Lineham , Shipton Under Wychwood - 13 November 1816, - copy of this parish entry on Ancestry.  Witnesses: James PRATLEY & Sarah SMITH

Have you followed James & Ann WATTS ???? to see if this is a sister

-----

1841 Census, Lyneham - Shipton Under Wychwood, Oxfordshire

WATTS

James - 70
Ann - 50 all born in County
William - 15
Matthew - 15
Hannah - 13

(on the 1851 census, Ann WATTS is aged 62 and born Churchill, Oxfordshire)

Family Search: Ann JOYNER - christened 7 September 1791, father: Robert JOYNER

Hi Thanks for the reply

Yes I have Caroline's marriage to Christopher Milling (Millin, Millen) at Shipton under Wychwood.

My descent is through their daughter Mary Millin born in Ramsden, who married John Buckingham.

I am not aware of any possible siblings Caroline may of had.
