Royal Engineers shoulder flash
« on: Saturday 05 August 17 16:32 BST (UK) »
Hopefully a simple question for someone with expert knowledge of the RE.

I have seen two different colour shoulder flashes, one is blue lettering on a red background, and the other is black lettering on an olive background. What do the different types signify please? My father was in the RE in France during the war and then India in 1945/6.

Thanks
George

Good afternoon,

The first is worn on no 2 dress or ceremonial. The second is for battledress or combats.

Hello John,

Thanks for the prompt response.

Excellent service from a Rootschatter, as usual.
