David Davies

David Davies was killed in a pit accident in 1888.  On the 1881 census for George Inn/Brithdir in Brithdir Terrace David Davies is described as widow, age 50, born Pembrokeshire.  Can someone please help identify this man on earlier census.

Hi Roy

Not much luck I'm afraid - no clues in what I can see in the newspapers as to how long he'd been in the area, or where he was from, and one report says he left a wife and grown up children

Having said that, casting my net a little wider ;ve come across this family. Given hisbody was conveyed to Rhymney for the funeral, a possibility? children all b Bedwellty

1871 - 28 Carno St

David Davis    40 - collier b Pembs
Mary Davis    40 - b Carmarthenshire
John Davis    17
Ann Davis    15
Sarah Davis    13
Elizabeth Davis    5

RG10, 5329, 54, 31

1861 - Llangynidr (address looks like Furnace, Rhymney Old)
David Davies    29 - b Letterston, Pembs, coal miner
Mary Davies    29 - b Llandingad Carms
John Davies    8
Ann Davies    4
Sarah Davies    2

RG9, 4216, 112, 41

I fear potentially the eldest son died in a mine accident in 1875, if they hadn;t moved from Carno St. http://newspapers.library.wales/view/3502718/3502722/50/
