Hi Carol,

Hope these links explain a little to you about what Claro is.

http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/place/24988

http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/claro.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claro_Wapentake

Basically Claro covers Knaresborough, Ripon, Pately Bridge, Harrogate, Wetherby, and a few others.
According to Brett Langston's Handbook to the Civil Registration Districts of England and Wales, the Claro district existed from 1947 until 1998, when it became part of the North Yorkshire district (along with all the other districts in the post-1974 county of North Yorkshire).
Bramwell -  Derbyshire and Bolton
Pottinger -  Gloucestershire, Berkshire
James- Gloucestershire
Rawley, Wheeler - Middlesex
Nicholls, Nichols -  Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire
Lee, Porter - Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire
Bowers, Coxall, Coe, Dawkins, Hawkins, Horspoole, Rule - Cambridgeshire
Stoughton - Bedfordshire
Stewart - Stirlingshire,  Glasgow and Edingburgh
Tulloch - Orkney Islands
Liddell - Stirlingshire, Lanarkshire
Tulloch, Wilson, Stevenson, Baxter, Muir, Boag - Scotland

Where Claro actually is/was, a Saxton Hill -an ancient important place, called 'Claro Hill' at Coneythorpe near  Allerton-Mauleverer

Looks like its just a timber business run - organised wood forest now

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Parishes within the Registration District:

Hello

Your question appears to be about a listing in the 1989 England & Wales Civil Registrars / GRO Deaths Index?

If so, this is only the INDEX listing.

There should be more precise information on the Death Certificate as to the Death location / address, cause of death and the Informant reporting the Death, but not the place of burial.

Ordering a Copy Death Certificate from the District Registrar or General Register Office at Smedley Hydro, Southport, UK, will give details of the Death.

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/contact_us.asp

For 1989 places of Burial may still be known by the Undertaker / Funeral Director who dealt with the Funeral of the Deceased.

If burial or cremation was in a Local Authority Cemetery, the Council where the burial took place or if burial at a church, will have the Burial listed.

Some people may be buried locally to where they lived or died, or a long way from where they lived / died.

Mark

As I said before, Claro was a Registration District ;D
It was created in 1947 out of Knaresborough, Ripon, Great Ouseborn, Pateley Bridge and Wetherby Registration Districts.

Each Registration District consists of several parishes.

For a list of parishes within Claro RD see: https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/claro.html
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
