Hi there.

Just in case this could be of assistance ....but could Nellie Shewan/ Burnside also have been a Scot although Ian's info has the couple marrying in England.
There is a Nellie Burnside aged 25 sailing to Quebec in May 1919 , her ultimate destination being Toronto, Ontario

The only way to discount Robert Burnside death in Manitoba would be by getting the death certificate. Registration Number -  1913,054314
No other details listed  ...........

Wonder if this volunteer could help  ???  Worth an e-mail to see if they can do a look up in archives for you  ???

There is a marriage at ScotlandsPeople for William Burnside and Nellie Simpson Shewan who were married on 2 Apr 1919 in Inveresk and Musselburgh. George Burnside was one of the witnesses.

If you PM me your email address I will send you the image.

Looking at Manitoba deaths, I wonder why the entry under Robert Burnside has a consecutive registration number?
Robert Burnside, age 23 years, died 9-9-1913, Winnipeg
  Reg No. 1913,054314

Burnside.  "Given name: page 2", died 1913, age: 999
  Reg No. 1913,054315

Did his registration have two pages, so he had two registration numbers or did two Burnsides pass away?  :-\

I haven't found anything in the Winnipeg Free Press regarding the death of Robert Burnside/Barnside.

BTW, search results from the Manitoba Vital Stats website won't show up in links posted here.

Thank you, Jacquie.  Not wanting to have a copyright issue or something similar, is it best to remove the link, or may I shrink the link and post the RootsChat link?  Thank you for any advice.  Remove the webite link now.   ;)
