Wonder if Stockport and Crewe were military areas?
I've not come across the match with Mary Young.
Where is Manchester CB?

Doing a free search on the 1939 list, the nearest Samuel Youngs to Manchester are
Stockport and Crewe

Doing the same with birthdate 1 feb 1906 =/- 2 gives one result Manchester CB with year 1908
Mary Young and 1 more person are on this record
2 more people who are officially closed

A bit of trial and error with the three daughters names should tell you which daughter had died before they stopped updating the register, and which two are possibly still alive
