EDWARD THOMPSON.
Edward W. Thompson, 70, of Why-
landra Creek, died at the District Hos-
pital last night after a protracted ill-
ness. "Ned" Thompson, as he was
well known to the district he lived in,
was a man of exceedingly kind heart
Many a poor man will remember him
with gratitude. Mrs. Thompson pre-
deceased her husband by about five
years. He leaves two daughters, one
being Mrs. Dowton, of Nevertire, and
three sons, Roy and Alfred, of Queens-
land, and
Arthur (Snowy), of Dubbo.
One son, W. Thompson, a returned sol-
dier, has died since the war.
The funeral takes place this after-
noon in the Church of England portion
of the cemetery, where Mr. Thompson
will be laid to rest by the side of his
wife, the Rev. A. McCallum conduct-
ing the Presbyterian service.
Funeral arrangements were in the
hands of Mr. E Lees.
