Stanley Spooner born early 1857, in Rosherville, Kent.

It seems like a good match then. Note that some of references spell Daniel with 2 Ls.

Also, if you haven't done so already you may want to check the newspapers for Stanley, as there are a lot of later references to him in his role as editor of Automotor Journal.

This was Thomas Toller Hurst Daniell, Stockbroker partner to Stanley.
 He was Husband to Stanley's Sister, Catherine Sarah Spooner, and died in September quarter 1892:
