Bewick Street Gateshead was where my parents lived during the war when my dad was home on leave. I can find no trace nor any street map. Can anyone help please?

That Bewick Street is in Newcastle.

Are you sure it was Gateshead and not Hebburn? This is Bewick Street Hebburn http://maps.nls.uk/view/101099378#zoom=5&lat=4879&lon=8063&layers=BT
There is a Bewick Road in Gateshead.

Yes it was Bewick Street

The people I am tracing lived there in 1939

I know Bewick Road exists. A common name - Bewick in those parts.

I imagine that like so many areas of Gateshead the Street disappeared in the 1960's slum clearances

I tried a free address search of the 1939 register, nothing coming up for Bewick St in Gateshead, though both Bewick Rd and Berwick Rd were there.

There is no Bewick Street in Gateshead in the 1911 census, however there is a Berwick Street https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/425682/562695/12/101200
