I think what dathai means is how do you know the Kilrush Michael is the correct one?
The usual progression is to find the child's marriage to get father's name, than birth to get mother's name.
It's a bit odd to start with the father's birth and work forwards, unless of course you have worked back to him via a child of his first marriage.

hi, we have worked backwards with the family, as far as Jeremiah.  Michael is one of the children we are having a problem with.  He was Jeremiah's first child of 11

sorry for the short reply earlier, I had to rush out for an appt.

we often laugh at how the old families didn't have a clue where they were born or how old they were, but I guess they didn't keep track.

On 1901 census Michael's parents and 5 of his children were all shown as being born in Limerick.
We know at least 4 of them were born in Kerry, and the last 3 were born in Limerick.  Unsure on 3 of them, and Michael was born in Kilrush, Clare.

The Michael you found could be right as he was a postman...as shown on his later marriage.

Been doing this family tree for years, but being Irish it's quite slow work, and can be quite expensive, so it's been very helpful having the help here.

Her name was Elizabeth Bridget Hanrahan.  (or even Bridget Elizabeth ? ) They were married in 1873 in Limerick.

when I checked Michael's wife Frances's death again, from the link heywood sent, it shows their address at what looks like Upper Cork St. Mitchelstown.

On the 1911 census link from sinann, Michael and his first wife were living at Upper Cork St.

If you have a Ancestry sub, they have Appointment books for Postmen, it just gives the name and year, not terribly useful but nice to have. I got my grandfather's two appointments on one of their free weekends, it was nice to get as it confirmed when he became a postman and when he was appointed to the town they finally settled in.

Oh and the link is fine, and yes looks good, I just can't find a death for Margaret but lots of deaths never got registered.
