John Rippon
« on: Tuesday 08 August 17 09:26 BST (UK) »
Hi there,
I am trying to find out more about an ancestor John Rippon. This is what I know so far. He was married to Mary and had at least 5 children in Kirkby la Thorpe: Elizabeth, 1801, Mary Ann, 1803, John, 1804, Sarah, 1809 and Susanna 1810.
It's not much to go on but I'd like to know when John was born, when he got married and who his parents were so I can go further back.
If anyone can help in anyway it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Vicky

That's interesting thank you. I see he was also with her in 1841 in Helpringham but his wife daughter's birth dates don't match what I have. Could be a second marriage to another Mary and had more children of the same names as others had died or I am totally on the wrong track

Sarah's age seems to vary on each census but correct on her burial:-

Sarah Rippon, b 1816, is living with her sister, Mary Ann Gibbs, in Spalding Road, Kirton, Boston, in 1861.

Also in 1871, b 1811, but in Colebrooke Row, Islington, London.

She was buried in Kirkby La Thorpe on 2nd May 1871, age 63, abode Middlesex.
