He was also Charles William I have (just this afternoon from my mother) gathered, and that date (1884) and location rings true.

However, my Great Grandmother was Lilianne (sp?)-Jane (Peggy) Jackson, I do not know when they married.

My Grandmother was born in 1925, and I believe Bill left Peggy in 1930 when they were living at Erles Coombe.

The rest (1947 and Awbridge) must be him too.

More pieces from the puzzle, thank you!

I can see 2 Romsey births, in 1924 and 1926 - what was the name of your grandmother?

Added:
It was birth in first quarter 1926, so your grandmother in late 1925, presumably.

Is this your great-grandmother's death?

Jane Lilian Wallace born 6th May 1899, died December quarter 1978 in Taunton

I'm sure she was born in '25  ???

Gillian Wallace, her sister was Maureen

That's her - they lived on Exmoor so Taunton was the nearest town.

Yes, she could have been born in 1925, but the birth was not registered until the first quarter of 1926.

Have you considered ordering Bill's will, to see who got the money?

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk

It says he was living at Two Acre, not Erles Coombe, but cannot see Two Acre on the maps.

When did your grandmother move from Awbridge?

Added:
Crossed this one as well, perhaps I should not add bits.
