Where is this place
« on: Tuesday 08 August 17 14:28 BST (UK) »
I have found one of my ancestors in the 1911 census and his birthplace looks like
Trelland, Rosslaven  Mayo.  Does anyone know where it is please.   I have looked on one or two sites, but couldn't find anything.  His name was Anthony Coleman born 1842 and was living in Leicester.

RG14 19176

Thanks
Carol

I think it could be the word "Ireland" if you zoom in upon it

Thanks everyone for the replies.  If I ever find him in 1891 or 1901 census it might give me a few more clues.

Hello,
Do you have him in earlier censuses? I know you mention 1891/1901 but I wonder do you have him with his mother in 1861?

Thanks Heywood.  Yes I do have the earlier census, but thanks for the interest.

I was thinking it might help you to trace the family in Mayo.
just found them in 1851 with father Bartholomew so that might help.
Have you looked for any siblings who might have given a more specific place than Mayo.

I have had a quick look and can only see a birthplace of Roscommon for Bridget in 1871  :-\
That is assuming I have the right Bridget.
