I feel that he was a liverpool man but he may have come from timbuckto

Without a birthplace/birthyear - how would you know whether you had the right person if you found a baptism etc on FS?

If we assume he was a bachelor when he married Margaret and assume a birthyear in the 1760's - there is this entry on FS

A samuel morton born 1765 england shipped out on the lima emigrating to usa 1820. Wonder if its the cobbler chappie

There is a will for a JOHN HOLLAND, yeoman, of Torbuck (near Huyton) for 1787, proved in 1831.
This will (1831) 'features' SAMUEL HOLLAND MORETON.
I think Margaret would have been John's daughter.

First wife of Samuel Holland Moreton was Rebecca Davies, married by license St Nicholas, Liverpool
22 February 1830.
His description batchelor/Gentleman, Rebecca was a spinster.

Rebecca was buried 23 July 1831 St James Toxeth age 39 wife of Samuel Holland Moreton.
