Trinidad birth records
« on: Wednesday 09 August 17 21:08 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for a birth record or any info on Walter St Clair b1891 in Trinidad. Are there any records online? He arrived in the UK in the 1920s and his family believe that he had been a house servant in Trinidad. Thanks

Hi,

Genealogy in Trinidad is a nightmare. There is nothing online.

There was an interesting website referencing the sources (like the Gazette) but it's down.

I would so love to get access to records for T&T.  My late husband's family are from there, some are still there, but information is sparse.  I now have another generation (my grandkids) to think about and share this heritage with.  If anyone else has suggestions or has had any success, that would be great to learn.  I have a feeling that the only way is going to be to take a trip to the island and search in person!  But that's not ($$$) feasible...
