Hi Ann

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

This forum is for finding out about our ancestors, not reconnecting with missing family and friends.

If you haven't done so already, please take a moment to read our guidelines for posting.

Added to that, the Australian members here will tell you that their countryfolk take privacy issues very seriously and may not be able to help other than suggest some resources to try.

Hi Ann,
   Welcome to rootschat  :)

This is the white pages https://www.whitepages.com.au/residential where you can search for current address and telephone numbers.

Here is an index of death notices http://ryersonindex.org/search.php    If you find their name here we may be able to post a death notice for you.

    Here is NSW BDM http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/Pages/family-history/family-history.aspx
You can search for marriages up until 7 aug 1967 and deaths up until 7 aug 1987

If you type their name in here https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/  you may see details of their migration and the rest of their family.

Hi Ann,

Welcome to RootsChat from me too.

May I suggest you have a read of a thread prepared some time ago now, but under the guidance of a Global Moderator with suggestions from many of the regular RChatters at that time.   Here is a link to it.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=368728.0  Reply 2 is devoted to RChat's Living Persons policy and includes suggestions to help you advance your own search.   :)

Our current Global Moderator recently posted the following reminder on one of the threads on this board, and may help to explain why we don't get involved in searching for living people.

... it is strictly against RootsChat rules to search out living folk, none of us is trained for supporting any emotional needs by both parties and neither of us know if there is a good reason why family ties have been lost. ...

Welcome from me too Ann. :)

Do you have any idea how old this person was in 1962?
Do you know if they are male or female?
Do you know what the initials stand for?
Do you know their place of origin?

Even to look them up in electoral registers (which only go to 1982 online) we would need to know a first name.

After you have made a couple more posts you can exchange information via the Personal Message system about anyone who is still living, and we might be able to help you that way. If they were very elderly in 1962 you should be ok to give further details of them, otherwise it will have to be via PM I'm afraid.
