Apologies I read you post quickly and thought it was the actual notice.

I suppose I would have would have posted the link to SAGenealogy and suggested she search for a death notice for the son.

It isn't him anyway .

Just a thought..

I'm wondering if the 78 was a misprint of the 78 yr old in the grave.

If the 7 was actually meant to be a 4 that would be age 48 in 1978 would actually fit the son!

I'm unaware of any brothers, there were only the 2 siblings (William & sis) as far as I know & of course a coincidence the male in the grave has the same name as William's son

My information came from Centennial Park Administrative Office.  I suggest that you request the notices from SLSA anyway.  There are often errors in cemetery records.  Some cemeteries 'listen' and use commonsense and I always provide supporting evidence eg death cert and/or death and funeral notices from newspapers. 

Let's hope the death and funeral notices help you and your friend.
