Thanks Dobfarm, my late father in law was constable at WAth, and knew Wilf quite well, as I did as colleagues on the County Council.

Hi cuz Dale

Something to chew on as below -some facts -other is fanily handed down info and pure speculation questions  as well as why's

I remember mam used to talk about Stanfree a lot and schooled at Shuttlewood down the road,

Herbert's brother Samuel Tidmarsh jr 1911 lived at Spooners Row- Suttlewood, Samuel Tidmarsh sr born 1844 Balsall War'ks died West Lea Clowne 1920 Samuel jr the imformant just a mile or so up the road from Stanfree. ?

by 1925 my mother lived in Stanfree with a semi posh (ish) Gt Auntie, then went to live in Holme, above Holmfirth and her Uncle Samuel jr either lived in or around Holmfirth before or after 1925- Both her uncle Samuel jr and mum went on to live their totally independent separate lives in Huddersfield  & Holmfirth areas in Yorkshire

Hebert Tidmarsh was at orchard row Carr vale, Bolsover 1911-Herbert's family when on to live in Clowne for the rest of their lives

Thomas Tidmash (Tidmarsh at death 1851) and Phoebe Cope married 1803 Merrevale Atherstone War's -son Thomas (brothers Herbert & Samuel jr's granddad) Tidmash bap 1806 ish Atherstone.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi Jamila169

Bear in mind not to confuse ~ In link of journeymouse has already posted the George Cutt(s) marriage to Frances (Fanny) Fox 1810 ~ later George Cutt(s)  was buried on 4 May 1828 at Bolsover,

Not to mix you up or confused you by the link ~ journeymouse refer to Mrs Fanny (Frances) Cutt(s) widow as Miss Frances (Fanny) Fox on the 1851c instead of Mrs Fanny Cutt(s) Widow- (Why I don't know)

There are various thin short paperback books on Bolsover by Barnard Haigh that are interesting reading, some are available at Chesterfield libarary-Mansfield library may have copies. A lot of good photos of old Bolsover & Carr vale.
