I think the ex-Parkhurst Prison Thomas JONES (convicted 19/10/1846) is now correctly identified, and thank you, but UK records (per FindMyPast and Ancestry) beg to differ on occupation between Rope and Pipe Maker......the latter has greater evidential support.   I think matthewj64's extract quoting Plate Maker is probably a bad transcription!!

By the way, I do not subscribe to Ancestry's "Worldwide" Indexes and consequently the Australian aspects, such as the Bathurst Gaol records, are not available to me.
