I am not sure where John fits in with my Sinclairs.All I know is it is a vast clan & mine do go back to the Clan Sinclair & the Earls of Caithness through Kennedy Sinclairs parents.
It is just that I had not followed through tracing my Gt Grandmother Sarahs siblings & it is this info which you & others have kindly found & sent to me.

Hi Betty the John Majendie Sinclair who died 1886 Edinburgh is the son of Kennedy Sinclair and Alice McKay ...Had a few credits on Scotlands People and just viewed the certificate if you pm your e-mail I will forward it on to you ..www.freecen.org.uk 1841 Census Kennedy Sinclair age 40 Farmer born  Caithness Elisha McKay/Sinclair age 30 Born Ireland

I must apologise because I have only just found that I did have this one,but not with any detail.
Apparently John M was born in Dublin,however that could be incorrect.

I note that Ann (1) b.Caithness on 1841c (as above)
On the 1851 age (11) Anne is b.Ireland
