Mary Jane Lightley born Bedlington 1888

Hi

I need help finding what happened to Mary Jane Lightley  (born Bedlington, Northumberland 1888).

She was the daughter of John George Lightley and Margaret Gledson.

In 1911 she is living with her maternal grandfather in Bedlington.

After this she disappears.

There is a marriage in the correct district in 1912 of a Mary Jane Lightley to a William White, but I think I've found these in Ashington in 1939 and this has Mary Jane's birth year as 1881, which I would probably link to a Mary Jane White (Lightley) listed as being born in 1882.

Other than this I'm stuck.

The surname is sometimes spelt Leightley.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've found them in 1939.

It has Mary as born 1898 and living with George Tyler (b.1904) and William Leightley (b.1866).

I'm assuming the William is her father which isn't the right one.

I've found them.

Following the births of the White children (MMN Lightley), the youngest 2 were born in Yorkshire.

Mary Jane White (Lightley) died in Thorne in 1931 aged 43 and her husband died in Doncaster in 1959.

Mary Jane White (Lightley) was my grandmother my Grandad was William White they married in 1912 and lived in Ashington where my father was born in 1926.  Are you a relative?

It's actually the family tree of a work colleague from Ashington.

His grandfather (William Henry Lightley 1887-1942) was the older brother of Mary Jane Lightley (your grandmother).

William married Cissie White (1890-1977). I haven't looked into the White family but I'm assuming Cissie and William White were brother and sister?
