Hi Minnie1703

Some dates to help put things in perspective would be helpful ;)

There is a marriage in 1950 Boness that fits for names - both have useful middle names (you can search freely on Scotland's People).

The groom of that marriage appears to have passed away 2004, age 77  - and there is a corresponding birth record in Bo'ness , 1927.

But I can't immediately see a death for the wife. There is a corresponding birth in Bo'ness for 1929

Are you partner's grandparents both deceased? We can't publically mention names of living people here on Rootschat - and should exercise restraint if the decease is relatively recent.

If this is the right couple, that's the starting point - and their middle names are therefore helpful.

Cheers

That 2004 death has the mother's maiden name as McCabe.

There is a marriage for a George Main / Kate McCabe , 1910 . Bo'Ness West Lothian.

On the 1911 Census index there is a George Main 22 and Kate Main 19 , with son(?) Alexander Main , in Bo'Ness.

Death Catherine Main(other surname McCabe) , age 67 , 1959 Bo'Ness and Carriden West Lothian.

Do a search on the Stirlingshire board, a Jim Main carried out a big search for family in and around
the Slamannan area, he may have useful info for your family.
