I suppose it would be helpful to see the picture and to also know your relationship to the item?
Good luck, because you may need it!

Apologies for the lack of context! The photo is a portrait of an unknown lady, possibly in the Simons family. However, we really have no idea. There is some resemblance to known family members, but nothing certain. Having researched the photography studio and consulted the photography experts on here, it seems that the photograph is Edwardian.

The lady it could be would be my 2 x great grandmother, Elizabeth Simons (nee Thorne), 1871 - 1928, but the lady in the photo looks much older than she would have been.

As for the Brighton connection, she was from London and we are unaware of any links to Brighton (unless it was on a holiday).

Thank you for your help :)

I was about to suggest the same as Carol, but an alternative could be From four Brighton Nether.
Perhaps an address.

I'm seeing the same as everyone else.  To help (sort of) narrow it down, that photographer, W. T. Almond was at the address shown (45 St. James Street) from 1904 to 1930. (Source: http://www.photohistory-sussex.co.uk/BTNpostcardportraits.htm )
