Henry Seers
« on: Tuesday 15 August 17 12:15 BST (UK) »
Hello, can anyone help me find the WW1 army service record of HENRY SEERS please? I have looked on Ancestry without success. I know that he served as a Private in the 23rd London Regiment. Henry was born on the 7th December 1895 in Chelsea, I believe, but later lived in Garratt Lane, Wandsworth. He was a baker's roundsman. He died in 1973 in Worthing.

Many thanks
Etches, Plant, Nunn

It is possible that it is amongst the large number destroyed in WW2

Thanks Rosie, that would seem to be the likeliest explanation.

If he was still serving in 1920 his records would be with the MOD

His wife died on the 5th November 1918 and on her death certificate Henry is described as "Ex Private London Regiment". So he was probably demobbed or discharged through injury perhaps.
