The FLEMMING family of St Pancras in 1881
« on: Tuesday 15 August 17 15:40 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone,
I seem to be hitting a few brick walls with the FLEMMING family.  I have them in the 1881 Census living at 8, Tudor Place, St Pancras.  John FLEMMING is aged 40, born in Poplar (though the family perception is that be was born in 1838). He is married to a Harriet, aged 34, and they have 3 small children all aged 5 and under.
John FLEMMING is supposed to have married a Harriet TRUSSELL, but I cannot seem to find a marriage to her between 1871 and 1881.
John Flemming's father is supposedly his namesake a John Flemming (1815-1885) but I cannot find a likely fit for him in previous Censuses.
Any help, however small, would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Keith

Gosh, Pauline, that was quick!
A bit of a mess in transcribing mother's maiden name there, but certainly the registration of their third child.  I was wondering whether Harriet might have been on her second marriage when hooking up with John F. And therefore might have a different surname whenever she married him, making it harder to find...

And now I see you've added the more accurate birth reg of Walter, thank you..

Oh, well done with those, ROSIE, (this infuriating tablet insisting on upper case for you!)
I did have Samuel as being Harriet's father's name, so this all fits together perfectly.
Thanks so much to the both of you.
