That's a stunning find.
8 Kerrison Road, SW8 is mentioned.
Except that it appears to be in SW11!
WG won't be on the electoral register then of course, but in 1927 a William Mark Pooley is one of those listed at 8 Kerrison Road.

Possibly his age was out in 1911
1901 has a William Pooley, 45, Plasterer, with wife Ellen, 43, in Battersea.
Both born Battersea (piece 453 folio 95 page 13)

Ellen dies in 1904, so he would be a widow.

William Mark Pooley b 1855, Westminster. appears to marry an Ellen Grigg in 1876. Dies Q4 1928, wandsworth

If Ellen dies in 1904 then who is the mother of the William born in 1909?  The image clearly states William Jnr to be 2 unless of course the age was written down incorrectly.

So need to check the maiden name of Ellen and thereby find a birth of a William with that maiden name.

Time to put the detective hat on......

Personally, I'm also in favour of the William George Pooley Finch that John has noted.

as I said above, William Mark married Ellen Rigg. Given she died in 1904, I think her maiden name is academic.

They had a daughter Ellen Emily b 1877 who married in 1899.

So is the consensus that William Mark Pooley born 1855, plasterer in the 1901 census, and the William Pooley born 1866, plasterer in the 1911 Census are the same man?

The 1911 William has knocked 10 years off his age?

And William Jnr is William George Pooley Finch whose birth is registered in the June quarter of 1909 in Fulham?  The GRO information suggesting that he is illegitimate.

So William Jnr should be William Snr's grandson?

And therefore, of course, not my William R Poole born 1866.

I think William Finch may be his son, by a liaison with a Miss Finch - potentially a bit younger, hence knocking a few years off his age. His daughter was married to a Mr Harris - no son around to father the child that I'm aware of

So IF a baptism can be found for William Jnr it may clarify who the parents are.

It therefore looks as though I still need to find William Robert Poole, as per my other thread, on the 1911 census.  Not sure if I will achieve that, haven't been able to so far.
