« on: Wednesday 16 August 17 03:39 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I don't know if anyone else has posted this, but for one week (started on the 14th August) you can search and view their Uk and Us censuses for free at  MyHeritage . You don't have to join up to view them. I recieved an email off them today regarding the offer, enjoy!
Here's the link https://blog.myheritage.com/2017/08/record-week-search-one-billion-census-records-for-free/
Kind Regards

GERONIMO!!!!!!!

I have just found my gtgtgt-grandmother's father living in Shoreditch on the 1851 census at MyHeritage.  He must be mistranscribed on other sites because I have been looking for years. And his occupation is written very clearly. I had thought he may have been Irish, but he was actually from Reading.

Thanks for the tip.  However I am rather underwhelmed by my result - I have just one connection with the US, a great-aunt and -uncle emigrated to New York in the 1890s.  I can find no trace of them on My Heritage, tho I have seen their census records elsewhere.  Seems their coverage is patchy.
