3rd Hussars, 1901-1908
« on: Wednesday 16 August 17 12:00 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information about activities of the 3rd Hussars for this period.
My grandfather was a groom in the regiment. I do not know any more, uniform, movement, etc.
He served in India at Sialkot and in S Africa 1901 & 1907.
Any info would be welcome.

Early 1900s are always difficult to get detail on as, apart from the Boer War, nothing much happened to disturb the historian's peace.
Starter for 10 - potted history http://www.qohmuseum.org.uk/3rd.htm

Brief account and names of men in South Africa for the Boer war here

The QOH museum in Warwick now look after the interests of 3rd Hussars among others.  An email to  them for advice may bear fruit.

Have you been able to find his records?

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
