There is a birth for Samuel Aitcheson - born 13 September 1802 and christened 27 September 1802 - Stranraer Wigtownshire Scotland.  Father john Aitcheson and mother Jean Cant.

John Aitcheson also had a brother Peter Aitcheson - born 22 August 1806 and christened 24 August 1806 Stranraer Wigtownshire.

Son of Samuel  ???  - There is also a Thomas Aitcheson in Springfield MA - Massachusetts, City Directory, 1858 - occupation clerk - Chicopoee Bank - boards cor William and Waters Street

Samuel Aitcheson - harness maker  is also listed  - h cor Williams and Water Street

This is Thomas the son of Samuel and Grace  - he appeared on the 1860 census FIND A GRAVE entry for Thomas who passed away 1862 aged 27 years.

Just a thought - it might be worth you posting an enquiry on the Wigtownshire board - Scotland to see if anyone can find anything on John Aitcheson and Jean Cant - parents of Samuel.
