Names on back of photo

I suspect that I am over thinking this, but here goes!

I have a photo of three gents, standing behind three seated ladies, with another lady seated on the floor in front of the middle seated lady.

Someone has carefully written their names on the back of the photo - so far so good!

My question is - would you a) write the corresponding name on the back of that person's head, or
b) would you write it in the order they appear on the front?

In scenario a, the left hand gent's name would appear 3rd on the back of the photo, but in scenario b it would appear 1st in the list.

I would write as it appears on the front ie. left to right.
The woman on the left appears to be unnamed & who's at the front Mary or Mollie ?
I think Mollie & Mary is the missing lady added later.

I was interpreting the Mary/Mollie bit as Mary is the one who is seated on the floor on the photo.  These people were all entertainers of varying forms (George Ellis was an actor, George Stockwin a baritone singer etc) and I think they were performing together on the Isle of Wight, so I thought that perhaps Mollie was also performing on the bill but for some reason was not included on the photograph.

Thank you Jim and Cell for your thoughts.  I think that I have some evidence to go along with your theories - at least, I have found a reference to Stock Wynn (as George Stockwin became known as) and his monocle.
