I have thri marriage as stated above. Their daughter Mary was baptised in felsted 1/5/1757

I couldn'tfind either John or Sarah being baptised in felsted or stebbing or little dunmow but did find these in great dunmow: John wood baptised 1/2/1718 to William and Elizabeth. Sarah baptised 3/4/1737 to Peter and Sarah. Bit of an age gap but not unusual in those days I suppose.

Can anyone see anything else more likely? Great dunmow isn't far from felsted.

Thanks

No parents listed back then. Too early I'm afraid.

I assume you have tried essex records office. Also have you tried contacting the vicar, sometimes they can be quite helpful (sometimes) i have his email if you like
The parish of Dunmow is next to little dunmow then felsted as you go west to east across essex so very close

If you go on essex family history page https://www.esfh.org.uk/pages/helpwanted/ then go to members interests there are people researching parish with email link

I've used Essex records online. I can't see either of them in the records at all.
