Possible early baptisms in Wandsworth (also Sarah's birthplace) before a move to Deptford:

1829 John Parker, son of John & Sarah [page damaged after this]
1831 William Parker, son of John (laborer) and Sarah, of Wandsworth.
1832 John Parker, son of John (labourer) & Sarah, of Wandsworth

Still wondering why Sarah said Middlesex, Bethnal Green in the 1861 - it's quite clear.

Added - no likely marriages so far  :-\

I do think the 1831 baptism in Wandsworth for William is right - he's pretty consistent later on with his Wandsworth birthplace (though living in Deptford after marriage).

He married in 1849 in Fulham to Amelia Cook - naming his father as John Parker, oil puncher.

Well the timing is OK - he was baptised 6 Jan 1850; his annotated birthdate is partly obscured but appears to have been in 1849.

Thanks for all your help.

I now think that John Parker is correct for father - Louisa Matilda states HENRY on marriage cert in 1862, but could be mistaken as I think her father (if he was John) was dead before 1861 census.
Also the occupation of Oil Puncher is unusual, so seems likely it is the same person.

Now looking at the three eldest children of John and Sarah : Mary William and John. Cannot find them in Deptford baptisms - so perhaps you are correct and they were born before they moved to that area.
Thanks again!!
