Woolward baptisms from Barking abt 1680s/1650s
« on: Saturday 19 August 17 14:27 BST (UK) »
Hello!

I'm having trouble tracking down an actual sources for baptisms in 1600s Barking. The first is for Thomas Woolward whom I'm estimating born around 1685/1687 based off his marriage in Oct 1712 Barking (boyd's).

The second is for John Woolward who I'm estimating a birth about 1648/1651 based off his marriage in Nov 1673 (boyd's).

Thanks for any help!

Taken from Barking parish register

John Woolward son of John & Sylvia his wife was baptised Jan 9th 1752
Also Thomas of the above baptised Jan 2 1649

John Woolward s/o John & Sarah baptised 29 Mar 1682
Tho. Woolward s/o John & Dorothy baptised 21 Sept 1685

I couldn't see any of these Woolward marriages, sorry.

Thanks!

I have a marriage for John Woolward 1652 but I can't see one for his father John and mother Sylvia either. There is someone else that has his mother as a Susan but I can't see evidence of that or a John/Susan marriage either.

It's a strong possibility that one of  the Woollwark/Woodward marriages relates to John Sr's parents. For age I would think the  Thomas and Ann more likely. Are you able to see a John Woolward/Woollward/Woolwark baptized between 1620/1630? I do not.

Also what source are you using to see the registers/transcripts? I'm having difficulty with online sources.

Thanks for your help! So appreciated
Nich

I looked at the registers/bishops transcripts at the Suffolk Records Office today.
