Quaker Ancesters
« on: Sunday 20 August 17 15:55 BST (UK) »
Hello -   I am researching my Borranskell family in Cumberland 17thc or before.   Many of them were Quakers especially a >Richard Borranskell, but he may have left  Also I have Fearon:  Benson :
The Fearon family were devout Quakers from the early 17thc or before.   I have three Christian names associated in the 16th/17thc     Abner,  Abel  Alan  Fearon:
No sightings of their birth and wonder did they come in to UK from elsewhere.
A Peter Fearon was again devout Quaker........
I would like to find if the Borranskell family were 'devout'  they were mainly in Cockermouth area....
Joan Borrowscale
Thank you

Could you give more information on 'Abner,  Abel  Alan  Fearon' as to approximate birth dates and where you have information on then?

Thank-you

Hello   Chempat -  you ask for details of dates for Abner, Abel, Alan
I have a baptism for Abner - son of Robert Fearon of Bank (Lorton,Cumberland) UK  4 June 1663
I have children of Abel Fearon  baptised from 1692 - 1697 at Lorton Parish, Cumberland UK
I also have children of Abner baptised from 1716-1727 at Lorton Parish Cumberland
I have children of Alan Fearon baptisms from 1687-1690
My ancester Mathew Fearon born 1727 was a son of Abner Fearon....for which I have a copy
All the above taken  from original Parish registers for Lorton Parish........
I am a member of Lorton Local History Society......
Most of my Borrowscale ancestors came from this area also.
I hope this helps.  I must say the Fearon family  were of the Quaker faith. Some of my Borrowscale ancestors were at some time of the Quaker faith.
I hope this helps.

I have been researching for 30 odd years.  I visited the libraries and checked the Parish Registers for all the names I was interested in.  I came back with lists and lists of all names
in Cumberland.  Also checked Quaker registers...   My Borrowscale tree goes back to 1700
only through checking Parish registers and making notes.  So my tree is legitimate......
That was when I had my own transport, sadly not any more.  So I go to the local libraries in Liverpool area, and I am on the internet..... I also do local history.......  It is my life..........
and I  love it.   And I have met many friends and relatives I did not know existed....
and I help others and pass on my own researching.....of coarse I have quite a few 'brick walls'to get through
