Hello hoping someone more experienced than myself could help try and locate information for my GGG Grandfather John Wood, having trouble locating his baptism and his war records, Wood is a very popular name.

John Wood was born about 1825 in Hartford, Cheshire, England, father Samuel. He married Sarah Ann Graham in 1837 Lewisham, Kent, Greater England and died sometime between 1852 - 1857.

 On the 1851 census record he is recorded as a Gunner, Driver, Royal Artillery at St Nicholas Island Barracks, Plymouth, Devon, England.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are Sarah & John in 1841

Are you sure of his birth/marraige years? I know it's possible but he would only be 12 in 1837  :-\

Hi have you made a mistake with his birth date as John would have only been 12 at this marriage
The 1851 census you mentioned in 1851 his age was 26 ...

Would be worth getting the certificate to confirm his age.

What are your sources for his place of birth?  Can you give us the 1851 census reference?

HO107; Piece: 1879; Folio: 899; Page: 5;  and I think his age is 36 not 25 so  born ca 1815 NOT 1825.

And if he died in army service, his records will have been destroyed.
