William Gribbin Strangeways
« on: Monday 21 August 17 17:17 BST (UK) »
I've been trying to find out what my Ancestor William Gribbin was in prison for in the 1901 census.
He was born in Manchester in 1853 and he married Hannah Lightbourne in 1877.
He died in Booth hall infirmary in 1910.
I'm presuming it was Strangeways prison he was in, as it was in the sub registration district of Cheetham on the census
Can anybody let me know how I can find out what his crime was please.

Thank you Mary,

I've had a good search around the site, but I can't find anything about William. So I'm assuming his records haven't been released yet due to the 100 years rule. Hopefully I'll get to see it one day.
