Apologies for any inadvertent offence, kallcoat. In reply 2 groom had asked OP 2 specific questions which were duly answered in reply 3 and I had not realised whilst reading through the thread that this information had actually come from yourself and not OP.  It just did not register with me that the questions had been answered by someone else.  This made me think that OP had more information about Ruth than had been posted hence my comments.

So apologies to yourself for me reading your reply as if it had come from OP and apologies to Muffin41 for thinking they knew more than they had initially posted.

No worries Annette......I am fairly new to RC myself and am not usually quick enough to help people as everyone on here is so on the ball  :)

Don't always know where to look myself but thought this was an easy one

Thank you all for giving me so much Information which has helped me so much. 8)

I had searched on and off for some years now and tried this topic on RC for the first time.

Maybe you can find the date of birth for Joseph Hancock; Ruth Taylor's husband. I have his baptism as  9 Mar 1820 in Wotton under Edge? That would round up the missing Details for me.

On the 1851 census
Back Lane - Wotton Under Edge

HANCOCK

Joseph - 29 (crossed through difficult to read) - Woollen Cloth Weaver, born North Nibley, Glos
Ruth - 27
George - 6
Jacob - 5
John - 3
Sarah Ann - 1

---

Quick look at Gloucestershire Baptism CD 1813 onwards - and can see a connection to North Nibley

Jacob & Elizabeth TAYLOR - (Jacob, a Weaver, had their daughter Sarah, christened there 4 February 1816) - will check some more.

---

Jacob HANCOCK married Elizabeth PERKINS at North Nibley 20 September 1805
