William Henry Cox 1890 Batcombe

My family had told me that William Henry Cox born in 1890 in Shepton Mallet had died in WW!. Looking through the records I don't believe this is the case.  He was a Farm Hand in Batcombe enlisted in the Royal Artillery at Taunton on 24 Aug 1911 aged 21 years & 4 months.  Service No's listed as 1406922 & 35834

He married Mary Ellen Padfield 17 Feb 1920.  I believe they had children.  I know names of people who could be living can't be posted but is there a way for me to look this up?

Thanks in advance.  I'm trying to solve this family mystery.

Hi Bowser,

If he married in 1920 then he could not have died in WW1.
You could get a lot of information on him if you apply for his War Service Records.
I did this with one of my hard to figure Ancestors and I was amazed at the information
that is contained in these documents.

Hi,

The couple are on the 1939 register, with at least 3 possible children in area. 2 records of family unopened as still possibly living up to 1990. The NHS updated the register till about 1990.

Not in parent household in 1939 working as domestic servant in area on register.
